I bought my AMD 65 kit for $80 back in 2006 . They can't import barrels for mil type weapons anymore so you have to buy one separately.

$165 , no barrel included.

$110, 7.62x39

$170, w/o barrel. I'd like to build an sbr out of one the these Bulgarians.

Thanks for the links. Seems that the barrel will take some looking- chrome lined and threaded in the requisite caliber is going for a premium according to teh goggle.

Gonna find a builders forum for a lil more lookin- can't bring myself to gamble with Cnetury, and for the cost comparison may as well buck it together myself.

If you have drills, dremmel, punches, vise, etc it ain't hard. I only had a challenge with the front trunion rivets. Had to make one of those rivet squashers out of a cheepo bolt cutter. If you you have the time it's all online.

Cntury suks.

Got the bulgi kit per links, nice prices. Got a line on reg 1.6 ceiver local, still barrel shoppin.

Thanks for the direction. One more thing, concerning the long rivets, I see lots of how, not much why-

Is that the only way to buck those rivets? Or is skill with a bucking bar assumed a lost art?

5.45x39 is a good caliber, slightly better accuracy than the 7.62x39 and better range. Due to the bullet design, it makes a nasty wound and performs much better than western ballistics tests reflect.

Yeah people on the internet argue constantly about this shit, but unless your shot placement is in that magical spot in the brain, there is no guarantee that they are going down before they can shoot back, no matter what you shoot them with. The absolute lack of recoil on the smaller-size cartridges is vastly underrated on the internet, but the ability to shoot from all kinds of retarded ass positions is awesome.
