I've eaten many of them
I'm a big fan of their Huevos Rancheros too
I know the law. And I have spent my entire life in its flagrant disregard.

I've never had it before. It always sounded a bit unpleasant to me and there are too many other mixers I think I prefer, but perhaps I should give it a try.

So at 7am I get off work, hed to a diner. I am in physical pain. I am angry because people were yelling at me for 8 hours straight. I am bitter that someone left that time bomb for me. But then after 3 bloody marys I felt awesome, out of pain and happy. Just like that. No venting, no therapy, no "just talking to someone" just a greek waitress ignorant of NYC alcohol serving laws bringing me happiness.

Are you not allowed to serve alcohol that early in NYC?

If it was made with anything but Clamato.

That means it is ok to add clam juice to some tomato juice or whatever to make a Ceasar..I am ok with that.

It is just the fake food coloring that nails me.

---edit---

Yah, Chimborazo I think it is like 9am before alcohol can be served.

Sucks for people on the late shift who cannot go grab a brew after work because ninnies think only alkies drink that early in the morning.

Another good recommendation. We have that stuff on hand in our home always.

Wow, even here in VA bars can start serving at 0600, but have to stop serving at 0200. NYC is 0400, right? So I guess it's almost even. The only exceptions are club licensees, who are unrestricted.

Anyway, now I'm craving a bloody Mary. I'd get one later but I'm having a deadly vindaloo with a friend tonight, and methinks that mixing a few BM's with a deadly vindaloo will make for a very unpleasant BM tomorrow morning.

I love Angostura. I drink it in a small turkish tea cup with shaved ice or with seltzer as a really weak fizzy drink...but I have never, ever added it to bloody mix and I really am having a hard time imagining the taste.

If I were you I would work on perfecting your angostura recipe because I sense the need for a BFC Bloody Mary Mix Off coming down the road sometime.

I like Caesars better because I find them not as acidic and thick as straight tomato juice. V8 I have not tried. I always throw in a couple shakes of angostura if I make them at home. I like that shit in Gin and Tonic too.

We forgive many transgressions here at the flag but this will be difficult for us to overcome.

btw..a liberal splash of bitters in a G&T is great. As well as a splash of green Chartreuse.
