Isn't UK petrol around £6.50 PER GALLON - $10.00 US PER GALLON?

Sitting in traffic on an over crowed island.
Any car is turning into a fucking luxury there.

That's give or take $100 U.S. dollars in real world (less than a million bucks to exchange). ...and as I recall you have a fairly economical car with a smallish tank (I can't remember what it was though).

Damn.

Just damn.

I love those Lotus 7 replicas. Make it one of the modern ones with Miata running gear and drivetrain so at least one can ride in reliable and competent if not comfortable style.
Also the Jag Mk2, which, according to the Hamster, was the choice of bank robbers back in the day.
Be nice to me. I'm a rug muncher.

A buddy of mine has been storing a 1/2 built one in my warehouse for a year - After looking at those pictures I should buy it from him and have someone throw it together

You should. Its a damn shame to have it just sitting around.

I still don't have a build date on my three wheeler yet, so it could cause a problem if I have to move to LA.

I bought the car because I did not need a car but because I wanted one. So I picked the most useless car for NYC I could think of that was fun and in my price range.

If I am in LA I will need a car, and I will need a practical one too so I either have to be a guy in LA with two cars (so far my choice seems to be a VW diesel wagon or a really dull Ford Transit) or a guy in LA who makes do with just a useless car. But I may not even have my useless car by the time I get there.

So my choices are:

1. Buy a crapmobile and sell it when the Morgan arrives.

2. Buy a useful mobile and pay for the upkeep of two cars when the Morgan arrives.

3. Be a weird guy who walks everywhere in LA (has its merits).

4. Beg Pelton let me use one of his Triumphs and then I can know where to park all the time because of the oil slick that marks out my territory.

Also another problem is that if it arrives while I am still in NYC, I would have to either ship it or drive it. Shipping is a problem because it has three wheels and doesn't really fit on any car ramp. Driving would be a blast but I have no idea how tired one gets driving this thing.

Of course all problems are solved if I do not get the job (as you all can tell I have high hopes and would really enjoy this job) except for the lack of money not having a job eventually creates.

the only thing I don't like about it is it uses Mazda Miata parts - and the Mazda Miata is piece of shit

And he is still holding onto the dream that he will actually save up the money to finish it despite only pulling in a few grand a month on DBA and I don't want to be a dick and dash a disabled dudes dream

The Miata is hardly a piece of shit.

One may not like the full cars themselves but the parts that make up the Miata are rock solid, cheap and plentiful to replace and used in hobby racing constantly because of these reasons.

But yah, dashing a dudes dreams would suck.

Actually, they're pretty tough. Over half of the club racers around here drive Miatas because they're good all around cars but cheap and plentiful.

Offer him a deal and offer to let him use the car a little.

Or, if he is feeling generous, to tell him that he wants a project car but would not be able to drive it since he is overseas so often. The guy might come up with a solution that gets the car built with James' help. Then James has a cool car in the US and the guy gets his project finished and "watches" it for him.
