Not at the moment, but I am trying to help spend some of it. I am not sure that I could work for DoS or AID, and that is why I am going to school for far longer than a person should. The beltway bandits make me sick. The fact that USAID contracts everything out with little M&E is pretty sad. I fear that I have become involved in an industry that has a lot of problems...

USAID does run some good programs, but all too often, the do gooder NGO's level of incompetence and corruption is every bit as bad as the gun toting company's that make the headlines. Its just the NGOs never get the bad press or any where near the level of accountability. To a degree, thats fair as the whole carrying weapons issue brings a level up on responsibility, but the amount of money wasted on those companies truly disgusted me. They typically moved in with a bunch of Masters Degree types who built a palace in a safe zone and never moved a bit further than that for lack of effort or such poor organizational/operational skills they couldn't tie a set of shoes successfully.
