Nothing wrong with Jeeps and Rovers going topless but you could have guessed that this was coming.

I feel sorry for all the wonky geezers that have been true to Land Rover through the years.

What has happened to all the old machinery? Ural's are still made, aren't VW beetles still made somewhere? Probably those discovery channel reality tV people could bang out replicas in a matter of months from scratch. Auction them off to status oriented types to whatever charity is hip at the moment.

Too bad someone wouldn't do a replica-better-than-the-original like Icon 4x4 has been doing. I would kill for a "new" 1969 Series IIa or a Dormobile made with modern materials. The VW syncro "thing" would be another cool repro.

the same thinking that created the economy mini Cadillac and the GM Volt. The only people that seem to really drive off road these days are rebels and I haven't seen a Land Rover amongst them.

This shit sells trucks

Drive a Land Rover if you want to let everybody know you're trailer trash.

I'll be keepin it classy.

Unfortunately Land Rover has not had a picture like that in a longtime. Even the Ford Ranger is getting some badass cred now that the ANA and ANP bombs around in them.

I'd still take a Wolf (or a Vixen) anyday over the G-Wagens, Hummers, Toyotas, Suburbans, etc the usual suspects drive.

Until you need to find repair parts in the third world, where even the worst places have access to a semi-official Toyota dealer that can gets parts for a Tacoma/Tundra/HiLux/HiLux Surf/4Runner/Land Cruiser, but you're SOL getting Land Rover parts unless you want to pay for $1700 of air freight by DHL.

I'm going to start brainstorming a bastard frankenstein mobile.

3/4 ton straight axles
Long range fuel tank
Straight block diesel (probably force fed)
Manual trans
Xtra beefy frame with corrosion protection package
Numerous top options

Oh here it is:

Don't buy a British vehicle unless you're in the UK.
They fall apart faster than a meth head's teeth.

Land Rovers don't have enough power to pull a trailer
