Perfect For “Shooting” Photos – Camera Designed As A Rifle

Perfect For “Shooting” Photos – Camera Designed As A Rifle. Seriously.

Randy Gregg has started a Kickstarter campaign to fund the development of a digital camera that is built to look just like a hunting rifle. It’s completely non-lethal, and pulling the trigger will store your images, complete with crosshair overlay, onto an SD card. For hunters and law enforcement this might be useful, but something tells me I won’t see this in a lineup next to a bunch of DSLRs when shooting public events.

I can see the potential for a gun looking like a camera but a camera looking like a gun is just silly.

The first motion camera ever used, in it's infancy, was made out of a rifle...roughly between 1880-1890.

The perfect tool for the weekend warrior. Plenty of wannabee snappers go around with so much quasi-military gear they make Rambo look like a hippy. They get their hummers, their big box brownies and bazooka lenses, dress up like Joe Macho and go bitch-hunting. Some of the gear weighs so much they'd need backs of steel to carry it all.

Ask them who their favourite snappers are and you will get blank looks. Push them and they will snap back saying 'I am my own inspiration!!!' or something retarded like that.

I think it is a great toy, with the emphasis on 'toy.' I am into all kinds of wacky gear this bit of kit fits exactly that description.
If it had a massively powerful digital zoom and an equally powerful mic, it might be worth using .... (lemme think of a suitable occasion) ....like at a wedding....or maybe not.
Gimme a couple of months. I'll think of a useful job for it.

That camera is beyond gay.
H&K marketed a camera for your sniper rifle years ago.

Swiss made & were supplied in the late '80s and early '90s to Swiss Federal Police and German Elite Police and Army units. These particular units are Swiss Federal Police trade-ins. If you know anything about the Swiss military and police - they take excellent care of their equipment.

Camera attaches to rear end of Hensoldt 6X or 10X scope as supplied with PSG-1. Trigger pack supplied replaces stock PSG-1 trigger pack - contains a trip mechanism that, via a mechanical cable, trips the camera shutter at the instant the hammer hits the firing pin.

Uses standard 600 Polariod film and takes four frames per picture (camera rotates from 12:00 o'clock to 3:00, 6:00 & 9:00 o'clock positions for each picture frame.

The CIA was reported to have purchased a number of these and we've heard of photos showing target's head exploding as bullet entered. Had three - only have this one left. $3,500.00"

Man I cant wait until someone using one of these gets shot by the cops

When that happens at an "Occupy (Insert something that doesn't matter)" I bet a hippie gets quoted saying something like "That cop had no right to shoot him, it was a just camera! - Police Brutality!"

EVEN BETTER IDEA: I am going to knock-off these in China and give them away for free in the inner city, trailer parks and college campuses - I figure it will thin down the Dummy/Oxygen Thief crowd by 60% within a month

There was a toy camera that was around in the 1970s that was like that. It took real pictures but was marketed to kids who want to handle a gun and go out and "shoot" wildlife"
