that is a public health issue and not one amenable to military or criminal justice intervention. people will make heroin when they need to, people will take it when they need to. you cant remove those needs by putting a gun in someones face or burning down their house.
of course, dont get me wrong, i'm not talking to you as if i know something you dont. im saying that asking "what about the heroin" as if it somehow is related to why we went there or as if while there we can effectively address it, well those are not good assumptions.
i'm sure the afghans will figure it out. its their fucking shithol country and we can bomb them to shit if they piss us off again without waging a failing drug war that has failed even more enormously in the western hemisphere even though it had more resources, civilization/society, education, politically mobilized parents, and of course no dirthumping mojahedin (just niggers and spics). its a joke, one of our nations biggest shames, and exporting two failed wars to afghanistan, as shitty as a country as it was, is pure fucking dickholery for which the only ppl to be held accountable and/or experiecne the full shittiness of its scourge are and will be the same dirthumpin afghans who were just responding to demand in our drug markets anyways.
