I hope this poll is simply to find where people stand, rather than an actual vote. Those who think it would be nice to have a memorial forum will get along just fine without it. Those who are opposed are clearly more vehement in there opinion, and rightly so. I think their wishes should be respected. I originally chose "I don't care, do as you like", but now I am leaning toward "no", for all the very good reasons already stated.

I've left strict instructions that in the event of my demise I don't want to be informed about it.

Damn.

That reminds me of a story I heard from a great uncle of mine years ago. I am sure other cultures have similar stories as this one.

But when his aunt died of TB in 1919 the viewing of the casket was in the living room (her name was Wilma and she was only 19 when she died..my grandma had another creepy story about this) and they placed cloth over the windows and mirrors so just in case her soul escaped it would not bash into things like a parakeet does. During the funeral the door was left open so used-to-be-Wilma could find her way out. Anyway, the funeral went as it should, no soul-parakeet was flapping into windows or trying to fight itself in a hall mirror but to be on the safe side whenever a noise was heard or something odd happened my great-great grandma would gently say "Du er død Wilma" as a reminder in case her daughter forgot (I suspect she was a forgetful teenager) with the theory being is that the dead have to be reminded they are dead or else they start trying to wander about like they were alive and then get frustrated at the lack of success.

So, if the theory is to be believed, you might be dead right now and not aware of it and your last wishes would have condemned you to ghost posts such as this..and perhaps you would be more adamant about not being told as well.

Unless you've met the individual, who gives a fuck?

Jesus..The fucking attention whoring around here is Fukushima level. We get it. You're so fucking socially responsible and community minded that you shit EEO forms, and pretend to give a piss about someone you've never met. "Oh, I so liked x's posts. X will be missed! Look at me!"

And in before anyone else: Why you so mad, Q?
I am the object of criticism around the world. But I think that since I am being discussed, then I am on the right track.
