Expect to pay $400 for one with front, dorsal, and side D-rings. Then add $120 for a good Y-shape dual climbing lanyard, plus $50-60 for a positioning lanyard. Plus tool belt, helmet, etc. BMX helmets work well, though Petzl makes some good dedicated purpose climbing helmets.

Duct tape and 550 cord = dirt cheap and works better than duct tape and bailing twine.

I used to wear a pro tec Skateboard helmet until I bought a petzl that has better air flow,so is somewhat cooler.

You know I know that. I've seen those wind tower tv shows. Not nearly as strenious as what we climb.
That shit is a cakewalk unless it's freezing.
We don't have anyone looking over our shoulders untill there is a death.

I have friends that do all of these things. I am still waiting for my one friend that lives nearby to let me borrow one of her harnesses to join her in one of her climbs up a local tower. Fun stuff and way outside my typical duties.
