Lightweight CCW

Postby bassaiguy » Fri May 17, 2013 11:35 am

Looking to replace my clunky old SW model 36 with a lighter and slimmer CCW. I'd like to keep to .38 special or better, but I can't break the bank. This is for actual carry, so I'd like to find a decent weapon at a reasonable price, not an art museum piece.

If the gun you carry is too heavy then go to the gym

You're right. What I need is a great big steel penis substitute. I'd better hit the gym. I wanted a gun that wouldn't ruin the lines of my skinny jeans. What was I thinking?

How do you like your EAA, JITW? They have a few around here in 10mm that are really cheap, and I'm in the market for a 10mm, but all the reviews I've read said the EAA was a shit gun, and the 10mm were some of the worst from EAA (think they were called EAA Witness) 10mm isn't a very well known caliber, but it's popular up here in Alaska to carry in case of bears.

I held a nice CCW Glock 20SF which is a 10mm. I have small hands, and even in my hands this thing did not fill my palm. I didn't like the feel. If my whole palm isn't gripping it seemed like it would mess with control of the firearm especially if there is any kick. I've never fired a 10mm so I can't speak on the recoil.

EAA imports some sweet guns - some of the witness steels are reportedly pretty good, but (also reportedly) the polymer witness (p-carry) in 10mm cracking in the frames resulted.

I shoot very hot (as in approaching 1,000 fpe) 10mm rounds out of my Glock G29 w/KKM bbl. Never skips a beat. Glocks can't point worth dick.

Just buy a used colt commander in 9x23 win or good ole .45. Points fast, great trigger & multiple safety's = a win!

I dont know about the EAA 10mm - but the .357 revolver is the heat, great gun for less than a few nights out for two to eat

They get a bad rep cuz people think a gun should cost 500+ bucks

I love it - had mine for over 12 years and it still shoots straight

Is anyone on here carrying the New Glock 43? I'd like to here what you think.

there is a reason that DEVGRU and Delta used Glocks when they got to Iraq & Afghanistan as their go-to pistols. You can hate 'em. but they are the Timex* of pistols.

Glocks are some of the best pistols ever mass produced.

Yep. I've had many pistols, but I'm most comfortable all around with my Glock.
