Swans - come in low just at first light like Lancaster bombers beating the air into submission with their wings (where I go there are thousands of them and it is an awesome sight and sound). I don't shoot these. Oh no.
Geese - to be fair the different variants move at different times but I don't want to bore you. Pulse still hits 180 when I hear that ankh ankh above the gale.
Teal - tricky buggers move fast in the half light.
and finally just when you think it's all over and you're unloaded and having a swig of something warming a couple of fat mallard get off their arse and fly over you.
I would imagine less than 0.000001% of the population could tell you the order the birds move in. This is a national disgrace but one I'm glad of.
