Morocco advice

Postby tlcfj40 » Thu Jul 31, 2014 7:56 pm

Hi all. I am planning a trip to Morocco in April/May of next year. I'm interested in Marrakesh, Tangier, and Casablanca. And I'd like to see the Sahara if I can squeeze the time in. I'm planning on travelling alone, which I don't know if that would cause me any hassles? Also, any suggestions on riads in Marrakesh? I've read that the riad experience is better than being in a hotel. And finally what is the vibe towards westerners in general?
If I get married again, I want a guy there with a drum to do rimshots during the vows.

Marrakesh is great. I would limit your time in Casablanca as there is not a huge amount to see, but it has plenty of cheap drinking holes which can be scarce in more remote pars of the country.

Essouria is neat though there are alot of tourists. I really liked the area around Zagora though it is a one bar town. Imlil is good for hking.

If it's in your budget rent a car. The internet is telling me gasoline in Morocco is roughly $5.50usd per gallon or 12MAD per liter.
