Yeesh, they got hit hard and it was almost as ignored in the US media as the Wildfires in the Canadian west were.

I am not near there but that area of the world has a great breakfast tradition of cream chip beef on toast as a side to eggs.

It got covered up here, surprisingly large loss of life but I can't remember the exact number.

Yep.

Notice how when tornados hit trailer parks people say "why do they live there?" but when fire ravages the hills of Los Angeles no one says "why would they live in a place that is dry, wood filled with roads too narrow for fire trucks to use?"
