Libya: Update

Postby RYP » Tue Jan 10, 2017 8:32 pm

Libya is becoming civilized. The east west road is dangerous requiring boat travel west of Tripoli because a shithead militia is kidnapping people. Random ISIS attacks to the east by Sirte. Dogshit towards Benghazi. The deserts south are normally safe but can require a truck load of weapons if the tribes are fighting. The border towns are akin to Juarez in the 1920's

Visa's are tough. The guy that used to get me in was kidnapped and the new guy is donkey slow. Pretty much the intel service that links to Bunyan Marsous. This will change again but paperwork is part of Libyan entry. You can fly from Istanbul to Misrata or Tripoli pretty cheap and sometimes bluster your way in with a promise to get a visa. The cities are great, even Sabratha where ISIS rolled in for a few hours. The road to the far west has a lot of kidnappings with my guess being informers at the border. Most people don't realize that ISIS is headquartered in Tunisia where they are in the mountains banging away at Special Operations troops.

I have traveled from Zuwara to Sirte and the usual hospitality is still in effect. Things are ridiculously cheap and expensive at the same time. Tripoli is worth a visit if you want to just hit and run.

Definitely four stars with Tripoli being your best bet for a visit with someone shadowing you for kidnappers.

The US hauled ass after Benghazi and operates from Malta. So their data has reverted to historic generic warnings.

So how many dinars can you get with a 100,000 baht? Are we that civilized yet?

Complete and utter fucking bullshit. Libya is a magnet for ISIS fleeing the dick kicking they are getting in Syria.

A sniff, just a sniff, of a job out there. It would have to be good to get me out of my Home Counties slippers and real ale retirement, but it could be. I'd be out of the saddle and in the office, but I'm happy with that

Cheers

Here's a snort for ye....Pelton is too busy chasing ghosts with the Obama approved, racially diverse "intelligence" agencies to track down an actual story in Libya. 1) How Killery Clinton and Barry were accessories to murder of two SEALs, a USAF CC and a US ambassador, so that they could ship MANPADS to their ISIS buddies in Syria. 2) Libya is ISIS central now.

It's my opinion that P maybe turned during his days in Grozny. Kinda like McCain..Spent some time with a bunch of males who probably pushed his shit in, so now he's gone full on Manchurian Candidate.

"Our sources". What a convenient puss out.

Let's have some names so we can validate the report. Or are you too fucking chickenshit to back it up?

Those IOMAX planes were originally brokered by Prince via Jordan to UAE. Technically he is not bombing Libya but they are supporting UAE and Jordanian Special Operations in Benghazi. Didn't see them in Sirte where the Murricans were using Marine planes from the carrier and drones.He has his own low budget version of the Air Tractor.

Didnt Blackwater have some turboprop thing in Iraq? I'm wondering how long it's going to take bigger militaries to figure out that a crop duster is just as effective against jihadis as a $100mil F35.

Erik tried to smuggle out some Iraqi PC 7's and got caught stuffing them into Connexs. He then pimped Ag Cats but now insists the IOMAX are not configured correctly for the ISR pod. ISIS is in two areas, south of Sirte and south of Sabratha but they flow from Tunisa. Actually the least of Libya's problems. The biggest is Misrata vs Haftar and that is why he needs aircraft. He is trying to get into Sabha now but he has few skills for war and zero ground support.

We've fought with many men acrost the seas,
An' some of 'em was brave an' some was not:
The Paythan an' the Zulu an' Burmese;
But the Fuzzy was the finest o' the lot.
We never got a ha'porth's change of 'im:
'E squatted in the scrub an' 'ocked our 'orses,
'E cut our sentries up at Sua~kim~,
An' 'e played the cat an' banjo with our forces.
So 'ere's ~to~ you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, at your 'ome in the Soudan;
You're a pore benighted 'eathen but a first-class fightin' man;
We gives you your certificate, an' if you want it signed
We'll come an' 'ave a romp with you whenever you're inclined.

We took our chanst among the Khyber 'ills,
The Boers knocked us silly at a mile,
The Burman give us Irriwaddy chills,
An' a Zulu ~impi~ dished us up in style:
But all we ever got from such as they
Was pop to what the Fuzzy made us swaller;
We 'eld our bloomin' own, the papers say,
But man for man the Fuzzy knocked us 'oller.
Then 'ere's ~to~ you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, an' the missis and the kid;
Our orders was to break you, an' of course we went an' did.
We sloshed you with Martinis, an' it wasn't 'ardly fair;
But for all the odds agin' you, Fuzzy-Wuz, you broke the square.

'E 'asn't got no papers of 'is own,
'E 'asn't got no medals nor rewards,
So we must certify the skill 'e's shown
In usin' of 'is long two-'anded swords:
When 'e's 'oppin' in an' out among the bush
With 'is coffin-'eaded shield an' shovel-spear,
An 'appy day with Fuzzy on the rush
Will last an 'ealthy Tommy for a year.
So 'ere's ~to~ you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, an' your friends which are no more,
If we 'adn't lost some messmates we would 'elp you to deplore;
But give an' take's the gospel, an' we'll call the bargain fair,
For if you 'ave lost more than us, you crumpled up the square!

'E rushes at the smoke when we let drive,
An', before we know, 'e's 'ackin' at our 'ead;
'E's all 'ot sand an' ginger when alive,
An' 'e's generally shammin' when 'e's dead.
'E's a daisy, 'e's a ducky, 'e's a lamb!
'E's a injia-rubber idiot on the spree,
'E's the on'y thing that doesn't give a damn
For a Regiment o' British Infantree!
So 'ere's ~to~ you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, at your 'ome in the Soudan;
You're a pore benighted 'eathen but a first-class fightin' man;
An' 'ere's ~to~ you, Fuzzy-Wuzzy, with your 'ayrick 'ead of 'air --
You big black boundin' beggar -- for you broke a British square!
