Imran Awan ..That lucky IT bastard.

He falls in with the least tech savvy people in the world. All of whom were addicted to their ancient blackberrys and had government dough to spend on the lie that they could be made secure.

Dunno if he was a spy. Pakistanis seem to care more about padding places they work with their friends so they can get a 10% kickback from them (this is a Bangladeshi thing too) and this follows that pattern more than it does a spy ring.

George Webb says he's a spy so he's a spy. Guy owns 12 houses, a half dozen car dealerships and makes 3 times the going wage for Congressional IT wonks. Guy is crooked as a dog's hind leg. But I can see how one could overlook all that and just assume that it was all innocent, espionage free fun.

Wasserman Schultz IT Aide Allegedly Bragged He Paid Pakistani Police For Protection

The Daily Caller | 9:49 PM 10/02/2017

A now-indicted IT aide to various House Democrats was sending money and gifts to government officials in Pakistan and received protection from the Pakistani police, multiple relatives claim.

A Democratic aide also said Imran Awan personally bragged to him that he could have people tortured in Pakistan. Awan’s lawyer acknowledged that he was sending money to a member of the Faisalabad police department, but said there was a good explanation.

The relatives said Awan and his brothers were also sending IT equipment, such as iPhones, to the country during the same period in which fraudulent purchase orders for that equipment were allegedly placed in the House, and in which congressional equipment apparently went missing.

Awan’s stepmother, Samina Gilani, said the brothers were paying police officer Azhar Awan and that he is their cousin.

Facebook confirms that Azhar works for the police and is Facebook “friends” with the former congressional aides, who worked for 45 Democratic House members until the aides were banned Feb. 2, following the discovery of 5,400 unauthorized logins to congressional servers and the funneling of “massive” amounts of data off the congressional network.

Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, who both worked for Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, were indicted after sending hundreds of thousands of dollars to Pakistan for what they said was a land deal.

Chris Gowen, Awan’s attorney, acknowledged the payments to the police officer, and said they were “to make payments” on the land. “You need to understand how land purchases work in Pakistan and I don’t have time to explain it to you,” Gowen told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

A source close to the investigation, who was not unauthorized to comment publicly, said the FBI generated suspicious activity reports on the suspects that were hundreds of pages long, based on their large cash deposits and international transfers.

A fellow Democratic House IT aide, speaking on condition of anonymity because of concern for his career, recounted a conversation between Awan and three colleagues in a House cafeteria several years ago in which Awan seemed to relish bragging about his ability to have people harassed in Pakistan."

Chris Gown

DNC IT staffer’s lawyer has deep ties to Clintons — and this is what Imran Awan is charged with

"Former DNC information technology staffer, Pakistani-born Imran Awan, was arrested at Washington D.C.’s Dulles International Airport on Monday night while trying to feel the country, and according to the latest reports, Awan’s lawyer — Chris Gowen — has deep ties to both Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Gowen was formerly a campaigner for both of the Clintons.

About Awan’s arrest, Gowen said that the arrest of his client was “clearly a right-wing media-driven prosecution by a United States Attorney’s Office that wants to prosecute people for working while Muslim.”

According to Gowen’s bio on his website, he “served as a traveling aid for President Clinton’s national and international trips. Chris finished his tenure with the Clintons by directing the advance operations for then-Senator Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign.”

Report: DNC Staffer Imran Awan Bragged He Could Have People Tortured

byIan Mason4 Oct 201715

Breitbart

"A Tuesday report by the Daily Caller’s Luke Rosiak suggests indicted Democratic IT aide Imran Awan sent cash to a relative in Pakistani law enforcement and once bragged he could have people taken in and beaten at his request.

Rosiak reports Awan’s stepmother, Samina Gilani, claims the disgraced IT staffer and his brother have been paying a cousin, Pakistani police officer Azhar Awan. The Daily Caller confirmed Azhar has been in contact with Imran via Facebook, which is especially concerning given casual boasts Imran Awan made to co-workers.
“He wanted to build a CRM [customer relationship management software] but he wanted to do it in Pakistan,” a Democratic IT aide who wished to remain anonymous related to the Daily Caller about his conversations with Awan, continuing:

But the government doesn’t allow that. They have to be American, but Imran said, “Well, we can say that they’re American, but really they’ll be in Pakistan. I have these guys that work for the Faisalabad police department, and all we have to do is pay them $100 a month and they take them over to the police station, strip their clothes off, hang them upside down and beat them with a shoe. And that person will work hard and be loyal from then on.” And we were all like, “what the fuck.” Two other people were there. We said, “he’s a fucking monster.”

According to Rosiak’s source, this conversation took place in the U.S. House cafeteria “several years ago.”

Awan, whose arrest while boarding a plane to Pakistan – where he had already sent hundreds of thousands of dollars – made headlines in August, is under indictment in a land-fraud conspiracy. He is also suspected of stealing, along with several family members, thousands of dollars of electronic equipment from his role as tech staffer to several congressional Democrats including former Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Separately, three woman have come forward to claim Awan abused them, keeping them as “slaves” in his Fairfax, Virginia, home.

While the ordinary criminal elements of Awan and his family’s list of alleged misdeeds are concerning, some are more troubled by the possibility he could have compromised government security with his access to the systems of congressmen and women he worked for. While there is no clear evidence of classified information leaking, reports of “terabytes” of members’ data being stolen abound."

Lawyer For IT Aide Says Dem Congressmen To Blame For Falsified Spending Records

The Daily Caller | 9:39 PM 10/04/2017

House Democrats ordered the systematic falsification of records showing how they spend their taxpayer-provided office budgets, according to lawyers for two former House information technology (IT) aides.

It’s a remarkable accusation that pits sitting lawmakers against the former aides, Imran Awan, his brothers Abid and Jamal, and his wife Hina Alvi. Imran was arrested in July while trying to board a flight to Pakistan, and then indicted on four counts of bank fraud involving moving money to that country. Imran and Hina, who was also indicted, face a court date Friday.

One of Imran’s lawyers, Aaron Page, acknowledged the invoicing discrepancy Aug. 21, telling The Daily Caller News Foundation, “This is just how things have been done for forever. This is what experienced members of Congress expect: to expedite things, they adjust the pricing.”

If members or senior staff instructed IT aides to misrepresent how budgets were spent, that could potentially explain why officials have not charged the Awans with crimes related to procurement, even a full year after House authorities gathered documentation showing invoices that claimed expensive technological items cost $499 instead of their true price: potentially an open-and-shut violation.

“The only reason you’re not seeing charges is because the Democrats who employed him are not cooperating,” a senior Republican congressional official with direct knowledge of the probe told TheDCNF last month.

He was initially surprised by seeming recalcitrant to enforce House rules, the official said, and eventually saw it as supporting the idea that members might fear that an investigation into rogue staffers could ultimately implicate members or senior staffers in procurement misconduct.

House-wide administrators take a periodic inventory of all equipment over $500, but items listed as less than that amount can more easily go missing. The difference in the price was made-up to the vendor, CDW Government, by wrongly inflating the cost of a “service plan.” The cost for the equipment’s service plans did not count toward triggering any internal tracking. Service plans are costs associated with support in case something breaks.

Some of the equipment was shipped to the Awans’ homes, and many pieces of equipment could not immediately be produced when investigators asked to see it, the senior congressional official told TheDCNF.

An allegedly lackadaisical approach is especially troublesome because procurement violations are not the only focus of the probe into the Awans. The Washington Post reported that investigators found the crew accessed a server 5,400 times without authorization and transferred “massive” data off of the House network. Democrats are potentially letting Imran get away with security breaches to keep the procurement issues from being looked into, the senior official told TheDCNF.

“We will never know the amount of penetration these guys had unless [the offices] do the right thing and come forward,” the official said. Collectively, the Awans and their friend Rao Abbas ran IT for one in five House Democrats, and had access to all their files."

FRIDAY NEWS DUMP:

Imran Awan ‘Very Strongly’ Wants To Block Review Of Hard Drive, Was Using Alias

The Daily Caller | 3:19 PM 10/06/2017

Lawyers for Imran Awan, an ex-aide who ran information technology (IT) for Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, “feel very strongly” that data recovered from a hard drive on Capitol Hill should not be valid as evidence because he put a note that said “attorney client privilege” near it before leaving it in a phone booth, they said in federal court Friday. A police report shows that the backpack contained a laptop with the username “RepDWS,” copy of Imran Awan’s ID, and the notebook.

Prosecutors revealed that when they arrested Imran at the airport in July as he tried to board a flight to Pakistan, he was carrying a resume with an alias in the Jackson Heights, Queens neighborhood of New York City. Imran may have planned to “relocate” there, seemingly under a different identity, Prosecutors suggested. They said he had wiped his cell phone hours before the arrest, suggesting that he was taking “active measures” to hide evidence.

Hina Alvi, Imran’s wife, was arraigned on four felony counts of bank fraud. Wasserman Schultz of Florida added Alvi to her payroll after the couple was already the focus of a criminal investigation into misconduct on Capitol Hill.

Hina handed a U.S. passport to prosecutors, and prosecutor Michael Marando asked if she had a Pakistani passport too. Hina shook her head “no” before her lawyer, Nikki Lotze, acknowledged that Hina did have one, but that it was in Pakistan. Lotze later said the passport was expired, and the judge requested that she try to have it mailed to U.S. authorities.

The investigation into Imran and his family began when House authorities noticed they were billing expensive equipment to congressional offices and falsely listing the price as exactly $499.99, one penny under the threshold at which equipment is automatically tracked by House administrators. The Awans’ relatives told The Daily Caller News Foundation that similar equipment was being sent to Pakistan. The investigation soon broadened into cybersecurity issues, when authorities found the Awans had accessed a congressional server 5,400 times without authorization and moved “massive” data off the House network, The Washington Post reported in September.

After they learned of the investigation, prosecutors say the husband and wife tried to go to Pakistan, first wiring hundreds of thousands of dollars there that prosecutors allege was obtained through bank fraud. Authorities have not charged the Awans, as of yet, with crimes related to the original investigation in the House.

Chris Gowen, Imran’s attorney, sought on Friday to preemptively stop prosecutors from using the laptop as evidence as it relates to potential additional charges, saying: “We do expect there being an attorney-client privilege issue in this case… What occurred is a backpack from my client was found, he was trying to get a better signal, there was a note that said attorney client privilege and a hard drive. We feel very strongly about this.”

Imran Awan case: Lawmaker calls 'massive' data transfers from Wasserman Schultz aide a 'substantial security threat'

Fox News | 4:29

A Republican lawmaker on Tuesday described the “massive” data transfers on government servers by a former IT aide to Democratic Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz as “a substantial security threat.”

“These facts, standing alone, indicate a substantial security threat,” Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Scott Perry said of the Imran Awan case during an informal hearing of Republican House members on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

“These facts, standing alone, indicate a substantial security threat."
- Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa.
Awan pleaded not guilty in September to multiple federal charges including bank fraud and conspiracy. A grand jury had returned an indictment in August in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia charging Imran Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, with a total of four charges.

Perry, a member of the Homeland Security subcommittee on cyber security, said Tuesday that the House Office of Inspector General tracked the network usage of Awan and his associates on House servers and found that a “massive” amount of data was flowing from the networks.

Awan and other IT aides for House Democrats had been on investigators’ radar for months over concerns of possible double-billing, alleged equipment theft and access to sensitive computer systems. Most lawmakers fired Awan in February, but Wasserman Schultz had kept him on until his arrest in July.

According to Perry, more than 5,700 logins by the five Awan associates were discovered on a single server within the House and 5,400 of those logins appeared unauthorized. That server, Perry said, belonged to then-Democratic Rep. Xavier Becerra, who is now attorney general in California."

Conservative Lawmakers: Imran Awan Scandal ‘Cries Out’ for House Investigation
byAdam Shaw10 Oct 2017303

Breitbart

"Conservative lawmakers held an unofficial meeting Tuesday on the scandal surrounding Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s (D-FL) former IT aide Imran Awan amid fears of a major security breach, with one lawmaker saying it “cries out” for a House probe.

Rep Jim Jordan (R-OH) told five fellow lawmakers of the Taxed Enough Already Caucus and three specialists on the topic at the meeting that House leaders need to do more:

This at least cries out for a serious investigation when you got people who have money problems hanging out with and getting a loan from someone who is known to hang out with Hezbollah and they have access to the server for dozens and dozens of Democrat officials in the United States Congress, I don’t know, but that’s a movie right there I think

Awan has been charged with counts of bank fraud in relation to moving money to Pakistan after taking out allegedly fraudulent loans. Other members of his family, including his wife and two brothers, are part of the investigation as they were also hired by Democratic offices.

Awan, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, was arrested trying to board a flight with his family to Pakistan in July. Most lawmakers had already fired him over concerns about practices after federal investigators raised red flags in January and banned him from the House network, but Wasserman Schultz kept him on until July.

While Democrats such as Wasserman Schultz have dismissed it as part of a right-wing “circus,” even the Washington Post — while decrying right-wing “conspiracy theories” — admitted that it “highlights urgent and persistent questions about how well Congress safeguards computer equipment and data.”

“And yet we’re having six guys show up to talk to three guys who’ve been following this story … where the heck is the House investigation, that’s what I want to know?” Jordan said in the hearing.

The hearing also featured Daily Caller investigative reporter Luke Rosiak, who broke much of the story over recent months, and Tom Fitton, head of Judicial Watch. Both agreed with lawmakers that there appear to be enough unanswered questions and red flags over the story that require further House investigation.

According to the Post, Awan came over to the U.S. from Pakistan at 17 after winning a green card through the lottery system, eventually becoming a citizen and being hired as an IT specialist in the office of Rep. Robert Wexler (D-FL). He soon became popular and was working part-time for a number of offices, while recommending family members for roles at the Hill."

Former Congressional IT pro Awan wiped phone before FBI arrest

by Teri Robinson, Executive Editor

SC Media US

An IT specialist formerly employed by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., who is now at the center of a loan fraud conspiracy, suspected of pilfering computer equipment and transferring copious amount of data from a House server wiped his iPhone of data shortly before his arrest at Dulles Airport in July.

Imran Awan was waiting to board a flight to Pakistan to join his wife, an alleged co-conspirator in the fraud plot, who had traveled to the country months earlier, when FBI agents nabbed him. At a hearing Friday, according to Forbes, Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Mirando told the court that the phone “had been wiped clean just a few hours before” Awan's arrest in rebuttal to claims by the IT pro's attorney that “Awan had recently bought the phone, so of course it didn't have any data on it.”

Awan, who had worked for more than 24 Democratic members of Congress over a 13-year period, stands accused of filing illegally for a home equity loan on rental property, which violates the Congressional Federal Credit Union rules. It was only after Awan was arrested at the airport that Wasserman Schultz fired him – other members of Congress had fired him in February when the probe was revealed and Awan's access to the House IT system was yanked. Wasserman Schultz has come under heavy criticism for keeping Awan onboard, raising the hackles of ethics watchdog groups and other critics.

“For several months, Wasserman Schultz refused to remove Awan from house payroll even though he was barred from the House computer system which would presumably prevent him from performing any reasonable IT work,” Matthew G. Whitaker, executive director wrote of the right-leaning Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) wrote in a letter last summer to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) Chairman Doc Hastings, calling it “contrary to the House Ethics Rules for Waserman Schultz to continue to pay Awan with taxpayer funds even after he was barred from the House computer system and could not perform his duties, and was also under criminal investigation.”

‘Dire Consequences’: Wife Of Indicted Dem IT Aide Says He ‘Threatened To Harm The Lives’

The Daily Caller | 9:10 PM 10/09/2017

The indicted husband-and-wife team of former IT aides to Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz sat directly across from each other at the defendants’ table in federal court Friday in Washington, D.C., but refused to look at each other.

Even as they are co-defendants in a U.S. case, Imran Awan’s own wife, Hina Alvi, has become the latest person to accuse him of fraud, filing papers against him in Pakistani court on Sept. 13, records obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation show. Alvi said Awan “threatened the complainant of dire consequences, he also threatened to harm the lives of family of the complainant if she intervenes.”

The couple were in U.S. court to face bank fraud charges related to sending money to Pakistan around the time they learned they were under investigation for abuses related to their work managing IT for members of Congress. Awan was arrested at Dulles Airport in July attempting to board a flight to Pakistan.

Wasserman Schultz, former chair of the Democratic National Committee, and other House Democrats have vigorously defended Awan, claiming the Capitol Police might be drumming up charges out of Islamaphobia.

Respondent has contract a second marriage on 17-08-2015 with one Mst. Sumaira Shehzadi alias Sumaira Siddique… without obtaining prior permission. Rather he mentioned himself as bachelor in… marriage certificate, he falsely declared that he has no wife or biological children at the time of contracting second marriage. This act of the respondent was shocking for the complainant and she asked the respondent about his second marriage on which he became furious while admitting the same and said he has no need to obtain permission from the complainant…

He further said furiously that the complainant has no right or power to restrain him from second and even third marriage. Furthermore, the respondent threatened the complainant of dire consequences, he also threatened to harm the lives of family of the complainant if she intervenes into the affairs of the respondent.

The Pakistani legal petition named as the second wife is a woman who records show told Virginia police she felt like Awan was keeping her “like a slave.”

GOP Rep Gohmert in Shock as Reporter Reveals Imran Awan Accessed House Server FROM PAKISTAN (VIDEO)
The Gateway Pundit

As previously reported, Debbie Wasserman Schultz employed Pakistani IT staffers and brothers who were paid over $4 million dollars over the course of their employment even though they were accused of a cyber-security breach.
Imran Awan was arrested as he attempted to flee the U.S. after wiring approximately $300,000 to Pakistan. Fox News is the only cable network covering this huge scandal. When Imran Awan was arrested he was carrying $12,000 in cash on him. His wife was carrying $12,000 of cash when she fled the country too.

Imran and his Muslim brothers, Abid and Jamal accessed unauthorized computers while acting as IT specialists. The three brothers were making $161,000, $165,000, and $160,000 and one of the brothers has a criminal background. Imran’s wife, Hina Alvi, who was employed as a staffer since February 2007, was paid 168,300 in 2016. Rao Abbas was paid $85,049 in 2016.

Investigative journalist for the Daily Caller, Luke Rosiak testified Tuesday to four House Republicans who held an impromptu Caucus meeting on the Awan IT scandal on Capitol Hill along with president of Judicial Watch Tom Fitton, Sara Carter of Circa News reported.

Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert was in absolute shock as Luke Rosiak revealed that Imran Awan spent several months each year in Pakistan and was STILL accessing the House server remotely.

“I’ve seen records indicating that he (Imran Awan) spent 3 to even more months per year in Pakistan. I’ve also seen emails that indicated that he was doing his job remotely in Pakistan,” Rosiak said.

“So he had access in doing the job in providing security for House members from Pakistan?? Seriously?!” Gohmert asked.

Gohmert was in absolute shock as he continued to wrap his head around the fact that a person was able to access a government server from Pakistan, calling the news “staggering”.

Video:

A House official told Circa News that Imran Awan may have sold the info he uploaded to Dropbox. Everyone is talking about Russia but Awan could have been the one to have sold the DNC emails. The DNC refuses to hand over their servers to be investigated. If they really were the victim of a ‘hack’ like they claim, they wouldn’t be protecting their servers from authorities.

The Gateway Pundit reported in July that Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer revealed to Laura Ingraham that the Pakistani IT staffers were sending sensitive information to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Judge Nap also discussed Imran Awan selling information to foreign agents in a July Fox News appearance.

Wife of Imran Awan, Arrested IT Aide of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Turns Against Her Husband

Posted at 12:00 pm on October 10, 2017 by Brandon Morse

RedState

No honor among thieves, even if they’re husband and wife.

The Daily Caller’s Luke Roziak — who has continuously covered the tragically underreported saga of former DNC Chair Debbie Wassmeran Schultz IT aide Imran Awan — has released new information that shows Awan’s situation has again turned for the worse, and this time at the hands of his own wife.

Awan’s wife, Hina Alvi, has filed papers against Awan, accusing him of fraud and illegally marrying another woman. According to the Daily Caller, the two now seem like enemies, arriving to the court, and lodging separately.

Alvi was arraigned Friday on four felony counts, and Awan, who has already been arraigned, requested that his GPS monitoring bracelet be taken off — citing the fact that his wife was in America as the reason he was not a flight risk.

Yet the couple entered and left the court separately, have different lawyers, and Awan’s lawyer told the judge that the husband and wife are staying “in a one-bedroom apartment and then also a house.”

Pakistani legal papers published by the news channel show Alvi recently accused Awan of illegally marrying another woman, and of fraud. “My husband Imran Awan son of Muhammad Ashraf Awan, committed fraud along with offence of polygamy,” she charges in the papers.

According to Alvi’s court statement, Awan had married a second woman without her consent, and without justification, making it illegal.

“A few months ago I got apprised of the fact that my husband has contracted second marriage secretly, fraudulently and without my consent with Mst. Sumaira Shehzadi Alias Sumaira Siddique Daughter of Muhammad Akram r/o Township, Lahore. The second marriage of my husband is illegal, unlawful and without justification,” says Alvi’s statement.

Awan had been on record as being in multiple relationships outside of his marriage with Alvi. Many of these women reported to police that Awan was highly abusive toward them.

According to police reports, one of the women he was in a relationship with was found bloody by police, a second said she was treated like a slave, and a third said she felt like she was being kept “in captivity.”

What did Democrats know and when did they know it?

Imran Awan was the preferred IT man for former DNC boss Debbie Wasserman Schultz and other prominent Democrats. When Awan attempted to flee the country in July, authorities busted him for bank fraud, but for Andrew McCarthy, who prosecuted “Blind Sheik” Omar Abdel-Rahman, “this appears to be a real conspiracy, aimed at undermining American national security.” Now some in Congress agree.

On Tuesday, Fox News reported, Rep. Scott Perry said Awan had made “massive” data transfers that posed a “substantial security threat.” Awan and four of his associates made 5,400 unauthorized logins on a single government server that belonged to Xavier Becerra, then head of House Democratic Caucus and now attorney general of California.

On October 6, Luke Rosiak of the Daily Caller reported that Awan’s attorney wants to bar authorities from recovering data off the hard drive from a laptop with the username “RepDWS.” Capitol police found that laptop in a phone booth in the Rayburn House Office Building after Imran Awan had been banned from the House network from which he made massive data transfers.

Xavier Becerra was one of five House Democratic Caucus members who hired Imran Awan in 2004 but Becerra made more payments to Awan than any other Caucus member. Awan had access to data from 45 House Democrats including members of the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Committees. To access that kind of information requires a security clearance, and as Andrew McCarthy noted, Awan and his crew could not possibly have qualified for such a clearance.

Florida Democrat Debbie Wasserman granted Awan free access to her computer and also brought aboard Abid Awan’s wife Natalia Sova and Awan’s brother Jamal. Wasserman Schultz refused to fire Awan even after he became the target of a criminal investigation, and she threatened investigators when they sought to inspect a laptop that belonged to the intrusive IT man.

due process rights were “being violated,” that the Muslim was “put under scrutiny because of his religious faith,” and that “the right-wing media circus fringe” was jumping to “outrageous, egregious conclusions that they have ties to terrorists and that they were stealing data.” Wasserman Schultz also said it was absurd to conclude that Awan was trying to flee the country.

As Luke Rosiak noted, when Imran Awan tried to board a flight to Pakistan in July he was carrying documents with an alias in the Jackson Heights, Queens neighborhood of New York City, and possibly planning to relocate there under a different identity. According to prosecutors, Awan was taking “active measures” to hide evidence, such as wiping clean his cell phone.

Awan’s attorney Chris Gowen is a former aide to Bill and Hillary Clinton. Gowen described Awan’s arrest as “clearly a right-wing media-driven prosecution by a United States Attorney’s Office that wants to prosecute people for working while Muslim.”

Some three months later, Rep. Scott Perry announced a “substantial security threat” from “massive” data breaches by the Democrats’ favorite IT man. Of all the IT men in all the IT companies in all the world, why did the Democrats hire Imran Awan? After learning that the Pakistani-born Muslim was under investigation, why did the Democrats keep paying him? And why did they bring on board other members of his family?

In his 5,400 unauthorized logins, what material did Awan take from members of the House Intelligence and Foreign Affairs Committees? Did Imran Awan send any classified information to his homeland Pakistan, which aids the Taliban and harbored Osama bin Laden? Or did he sell it off to Russia or perhaps North Korea?

What did the Democrats know about Awan’s data breaches, and when did they know it? Did Awan’s data have anything to do with all the DNC leaks last year? Is Mueller’s Russia probe a diversion from the massive data breaches by Awan and his family?

What, exactly, was on that secret server that House Democratic Caucus boss Xavier Becerra wanted to wipe clean? That is a key question, but Perry should expect little if any cooperation from Becerra, once on Hillary Clinton’s short list as a running mate.

Becerra is Jerry Brown’s megaphone against Trump, and California is now officially a sanctuary state. Secretary of State Alex Padilla refuses to give voter information to a federal investigation on election fraud, so attorney general Becerra is not likely to come clean on the server. His office had no comment after Perry’s announcement. Security threats are not a new theme for the Pennsylvania Republican, a member of the Homeland Security subcommittee on terrorism and intelligence.

“Violent Islamist extremism is regarded by many security experts as the principle extremist threat to the United States,” said Rep. Perry in a September 22, 2016, statement for a hearing on radical Islamist terror.

“It’s time to stop hiding behind a façade of political correctness. Radical Islamist terrorists threaten our freedoms and threaten our way of life. If we are too afraid to name our enemy, and to dig deep into their ideological motivations, how are we ever expected to destroy this scourge?”

Rep. Perry could be the right man to lead a full congressional investigation on the Democrats’ IT man Imran Awan.

Exclusive: The Democrat's IT Scandal Started With This Big Oversight

Frank Miniter, Contributor
Forbes | 2017-10-12

None of the six officially vetted IT firms that do work for congressional offices employed Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s (D-FL) now indicted IT aide, Imran Awan. This is odd, as congressional offices are given a pre-approved list of tech firms to work with for IT support.

U.S. Senate offices typically have a fulltime employee on staff that handles IT, but most of the 435 congressmen in the U.S. House of Representatives don’t require that much technical support. They typically hire IT professionals from an approved list of companies as they need them and often use them as “shared” employees with other congressional offices.

Imran Awan, nor or his family members and other associates who are now being investigated by Capitol Police, were employed as current or former employees by these vetted firms, say congressional sources.

Capitol Police so far haven’t responded to questions about how this vetting process for IT professional works; however, it has long been known that some have been slipping through with little scrutiny.

In 2008 the House Inspector General, James J. Cornell, testified that there was “inadequate oversight” over shared employees like Imran Awan and his associates.

There was reason for concern.

Cornell had said, “In most instances, they have all the freedom of a vendor and all the benefits of an employee without the accountability one would expect with an employee.” At the time he said IT specialists “present an additional risk in that they often have access to multiple office’s data outside of both the oversight of congressional office staff and the visibility of House security personnel.”

Imran Awan is from Pakistan. He became a U.S. citizen in 2004 after he got a green card through a lottery system. He would later earn a degree in information technology from Johns Hopkins.

Pharmacy is said to have delivered Alzheimer’s drugs to members of Congress

By Christina Prignano Globe staff October 11, 2017

BostonGlobe.com

A D.C. pharmacist says his pharmacy has filled prescriptions for “pretty serious health problems” for members of Congress, including drugs for Alzheimer’s disease, according to a new interview published in STAT news.

The pharmacist, Grubb’s Pharmacy owner Mike Kim, made the disclosure as part of a larger story into a perk afforded to lawmakers: Drugs from a community pharmacy are delivered to the office of the Attending Physician, allowing members of Congress to avoid trips to the store.

“At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Kim told STAT. “It makes you kind of sit back and say, ‘Wow, they’re making the highest laws of the land and they might not even remember what happened yesterday.’”

Those health problems have included things like Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes, Kim said, according to STAT.

There has been a renewed interest in recent months about how lawmakers access health care as the Republican-controlled Congress has worked to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

Pharmacist hints some members of Congress have Alzheimer’s
By Ruth Brown

New York Post

A pharmacist who fills all the scrips for members of Congress says he’s given Alzheimer’s drugs to lawmakers — who may be running the country while losing their marbles.

“At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Mike Kim told STAT News, reportedly citing diabetes and Alzheimer’s treatments.

“It makes you kind of sit back and say, ‘Wow, they’re making the highest laws of the land and they might not even remember what happened yesterday.’”

Kim owns Grubb’s Pharmacy, a 150-year-old DC drugstore that delivers as many as 100 prescriptions a day to Capitol Hill, the outlet reports.

But sometimes politicians come in person to pick up their pills.

“I still remember John Kerry — it was literally like the day after he lost [the 2004 presidential election], he came in and he was just standing in line with everybody else,” Kim told STAT.

“I just remember seeing him standing in line and almost feeling sorry for him — one day he’s a superstar, he’s got his entourage and security detail, and the next day he’s just by himself, he’s picking up his prescription.”

An old-school pharmacy hand-delivers drugs to Congress, a little-known perk for the powerful

ByErin Mershon@eemershon

STAT

WASHINGTON — If House Speaker Paul Ryan comes down with the flu this winter, he and his security detail won’t be screeching off toward the closest CVS for his Tamiflu.

Instead, he can just walk downstairs and pick up the pills, part of a little-known perk open to every member of Congress, from Ryan and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell down to the newest freshman Democrat.

Nearly every day for at least two decades pharmaceutical drugs have been brought by the carload to the Capitol — an arrangement so under the radar that even pharmacy lobbyists who regularly pitch Congress on their industry aren’t aware of it.

The deliveries arrive at the secretive Office of the Attending Physician, an elaborate medical clinic where Navy doctors triage medical emergencies and provide basic health care for lawmakers who pay an annual fee of just over $600. Every one comes from Washington’s oldest community pharmacy, Grubb’s.

Mike Kim, the reserved pharmacist-turned-owner of the pharmacy, said he has gotten used to knowing the most sensitive details about some of the most famous people in Washington.

“At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Kim said, listing treatments for conditions like diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

“It makes you kind of sit back and say, ‘Wow, they’re making the highest laws of the land and they might not even remember what happened yesterday.'”

Miami politician says aliens took her on a spaceship. Now she’s running for Congress.

By Alex Daugherty And Patricia Mazzeiadaugherty@mcclatchydc.com

miamiherald | WASHINGTON

Florida has a U.S. senator who once flew aboard the Space Shuttle.

A congressional candidate from Miami can go one better: Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera says she’s been aboard a spaceship too. But this one was crewed by aliens. As in extraterrestrials.

Three blond, big-bodied beings — two females, one male — visited her when she was 7 years old and have communicated telepathically with her several times in her life, she says. (Sen. Bill Nelson served as payload officer aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1986. All seven people aboard were from Earth. As far as is known.)

Rodriguez Aguilera, 59, a Republican who is running to replace retiring Miami Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, recounted her experience with the ETs during a 2009 television interview.

She described “going up” inside the spaceship — though whether it went into space or just hovered around town was left unclear.

“I went in. There were some round seats that were there, and some quartz rocks that controlled the ship — not like airplanes,” Rodriguez Aguilera said.

In two separate videos posted to YouTube years ago, one by local Spanish-language station America TeVe and another by a political critic with the user name DoralGirl26, Rodriguez Aguilera spoke on television in detail about her extraterrestrial experiences. She said the alien beings reminded her of the famous statue in Rio de Janeiro, Christ the Redeemer, with arms outstretched.

Among the things she said she found out from the aliens:

▪ There are 30,000 skulls — “different from humans” — in a cave in the Mediterranean island of Malta.

▪ The world’s “energy center” is in Africa.

▪ The Coral Castle, a limestone tourist attraction South Miami-Dade, is actually an ancient Egyptian pyramid.

▪ “God is a universal energy.”

She also said that the aliens had mentioned Isis, though she didn’t clarify if they meant the terrorist organization or the ancient Egyptian goddess.

The Miami Herald asked Rodriguez Aguilera about her experiences Friday. She responded with a statement that waxed astronomical, but sadly failed to mention close encounters of any kind.

Miami congressional candidate claims she was visited by aliens

TheHill
A candidate for a Florida congressional seat claims she was visited by aliens and has communicated with them several times throughout her life.

Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera said in a 2009 television appearance that she went up into the spaceship when she was 7 years old, according to McClatchy.

“I went in. There were some round seats that were there, and some quartz rocks that controlled the ship — not like airplanes,” Rodriguez Aguilera said in the interview, a video of which was posted to YouTube and first reported on by McClatchy.

She said she was visited by three large, blonde beings at the time. One was male and two were female.

“For years, people — including presidents like Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and astronauts — have publicly claimed to have seen unidentified flying objects and scientists like Stephen Hawking and institutions like the Vatican have stated that there are billions of galaxies in the universe and we are probably not alone,” Rodriguez Aguilera told The Miami Herald on Friday.
