They wont. Because CHOP is an area that had shootings before this. I cannot get past the paywall (well, too lazy to) but I did notice the concrete barriers up there that they placed to prevent people from driving in and attacking people with their cars. But my friend who is a photographer there says that its quite harmless. Businesses function, the police are actually there but just not coming out of the station except to change shifts and RAZ being a warlord is total BS. That was done to "pwn the right" or something. Got tons of photos from there and basically it is a hippy street fair.

CHOP / CHAZ should have just thrown a party, declared victory and left.

The Paris Commune failed too, the problem was that failed because of ramparts storming etc. etc. It was not allowed to collapse under it's own contradictions. If it had been left alone, it's failure would have fallen on it's proto-SOVIET managers and there would not have been a modern Soviet movement.

Stepping in when a movement fails shows that the government, though flawed, is legitimate.

Cracking skulls and causing a movement to fail shows the movement is legitimate, and it's failure did not come from it's flaws but rather by repression. That plants the seed for more...unless you just line up everyone and shoot them.
