A contemporary view of Antifa

Postby Kurt » Mon Nov 02, 2020 6:20 pm

Both from the standpoint of the Constitution and sound statesmanship, it is not fascism, but the vindictive, intemperate "antifa" movement that is the cause of all these troubles.

This was said by some dip named Tyler Gardiner.

But it seems to be at the core of both Anti-antifa and anti-BLM. Blaming the reaction to the problem as being more of a problem than what is the cause of the reaction.

It is how we get stunted.

Don’t know who he is. A c-list actor? An obscure state senator in Ohio? An athlete?

Whatever the case may be, these is just another profoundly stupid statement illustrating that half the country is in an active state of psychosis.

I mean, they call-out legit GOTV activism as “voter suppression”. They are unraveling by the moment, dehumanizing anyone who is not with them on Team Trump. Lately Trump at his rallies has been boasting how he would beat-up Biden in a physical fight. WTAF?

It makes me think of one of the debates between Romney and Obama. President Obama delivered a zinger that angered one of Mitt’s sons, who said that he wanted to punch Obama. Later, Mitt’s other son, approached Obama and told him (paraphrasing) “about my brother , he’s punched ME before. Believe me,you’ve got nothing to worry about. “.

Everybody laughed. That’s class. Trump has none. It’s excruciating.

It'd be great to toss both sides onto some island and let them protest it out so the rest of us can go on with our lives.

Sorry, that’s not how it works. To me, elections are important.

I think you're confusing the electoral process and adults having group temper tantrums in public.

after the incident with the biden bus in texas I think presidential races in the US should be held once every 10 years and the presidential race will be a actual race

straight across the continental US mad max style, and the first racer to arrive or the last one surviving will be crowned president

Now that small quantities of hard drugs are legal in Oregon. The next item on the ballot should be a state subsidized arena for political combat. It would be completely voluntary and good means for individuals that take their politics a little too seriously to blow off some steam. This arena would not be a substitute for the electoral process, just a place for people upset with the system to take their aggression out. There can be different modes of combat, from spitting to improvised deadly weapons (no firearms, even though the last antifa protest I encountered had a few armed participants) maybe even a who can scream the highest decibels (both sides love to shriek!) battle! Now that politics have become so divisive in America it's time to make a progressive adaption and allow these upset people of all political stripes to have a relatively safe space to take out their anger.

What if you are aware that you dehumanize those you do not like or guess you do not like but don't care?

What it comes down to is this:

Our Team: Yay!
Their Team: Boooo!

That is what I admire about the Right Wing in the US. They do not give a shit about their internal or external contradictions.

In 2012 It was:

"Stop Socialism! Defend Medicaid!"

Then some snooty sunovabich like me says "but Medicaid IS a form of Socialism"

They did not care. They didn't want Obama's programs to go through because it was Obama and the Democrats advocating them. Or they thought, literally that the lame piece of legislation called Obamacare actually was socialism, and the medical care safety net called Medicaid was not.

It did not matter. And, if you think about it, it actually doesn't matter.

The problem is that Liberals hobble themselves all the time with pointing out contradictions and inconsistencies thinking it is going to lead to a "pure" movement. That leads them to do stupid shit like condemn grassroots movements that they need for either not being inclusive enough, being associated with vandalism and blocking traffic where as the Right has no problem at all calling protesters "speedbumps" when they block traffic but if the Biden Bus in Texas had felt threatened and used it's speed and weight to it's advantage or if a truck would have plowed through the crowd that blocked traffic on the Mario Cuomo bridge we know damn well they would have objected. But it boils down to "We can mow down Liberal protesters blocking traffic but they cannot mow down conservative protesters blocking traffic because Liberals are Liberals and Conservatives are conservative."

Drugs won this election in the US.

I approve.

Apparently the dispensary in New Jersey will be called Bada-Bong.

I don't know about a philosophy that's all about personal adult pleasures and the sooner the better.

It sounds like a bad idea to me a very bad idea.

Humor aside, the two measures that passed had little to do with pleasure. I don't think relieving suffering is necessarily creating pleasure.
