@Moosehead, etc: the new Borknagar ("Urd") is their best in years.

Pretty crunchy. I've recently dug deep in Rammstein, but now I've gone retro and bought a box set of every Led Zeppelin studio album. They're a good jamming rock/blues band, actually. I like that they stayed true to themselves to the end. For example, I like Traveling Riverside Blues on their last album (Coda) because I dig steel guitar. Not quite Kashmir or Whole Lotta Love, but excellent nonetheless.

But unfortunately I think I've heard Stairway to Heaven a few too many times. Can't really listen to it anymore.

Borknagar, and Satyricon for that matter, is for uber- goobers have have Evanescence ring tones on their i-phones, play dungeons and dragons ,and hang out at renaissance festivals.

I'm starting to think that Zeppelin made the Stones look like a garage band. Not that I don't like the Stones....

I see, so, even though no one in Darkthrone or Gorgoroth ever burned churches or killed anyone either, they are still so much more kvlt and true than the guys in Borknagar?

No need for churh burnings. Borknagar is folky power metal. Take Manowar, throw in some Enya, and you have Borknagar.

I rediscovered the Jam. I have been bouncing between them and Fu Manchu.
If I get married again, I want a guy there with a drum to do rimshots during the vows.
